Cabalen and Vegan Options

Since I turned vegan, I seldom go to buffet as ordinary buffets usually would just have food that have been slaughtered as main course and I would usually be left eating leaves. I'm not complaining but if you say pay an amount for a buffet and not get your money's worth, you'd have a pretty guilty feeling inside.

So when friends invited me out to buffet in Cabalen in Market, Market (and their treat may I gratefully say), I said yes. (I could use a treat since I've recently shifted to the budget system taught by Millionaire Mind Intensive. Click here for the article, How to Budget Like a Millionaire.)

I started walking around the buffet area and checked which food I could eat which had no any meat (including fish), crustacean, eggs, and dairy. And I'm not dismayed by the choices. First they offer a lot of salad combination and variety of dressing which includes my favorite vinaigrette and pipino dressing.

They also have steamed vegetables - okra, eggplant, string beans - combined with different kinds of atcharas.

(The picture has been taken much later so some vegetables are not there anymore.)

As for their desserts, they have monggo porridge, sweetened camote, gulaman with beans and rice crispies, suman with dessicated coconut and fruit slices and rice cake.

All this for P378 only. Unlimited. :)

So if you're around Market Market with non-vegan friends and want to eat in a restaurant buffet with vegan options, you may try Cabalen in Market Market.

I wouldn't recommend it though if you're spending alone on your food for this amount. There are variety of choices you can explore around the area.

That will be the topic of my future blog. (Watch out for it!)

If you want me to check out other restaurants, let me know.
